Dr. Hamawy offers several of options to help you achieve full, beautiful lips that appear natural. No two procedures are exactly alike. Each lip procedure is tailored to address your individual facial features and your aesthetic goals.

The Procedure

Dr. Adam Hamawy offers injectable fillers or implant options for your lip enhancement. During your initial consultation, he will recommend the best lip procedure, based on your desired outcome.

While fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and collagen offer some advantages such as ease of use and quick recovery, they are not long-term solutions. Injectable lip enhancement procedures must be repeated every 6-12 months to maintain fullness. Therefore, Dr. Hamawy also offers silicone lip implants as an option that can provide you with very natural-looking and long-lasting results.

If you prefer, we can also perform your lip augmentation procedure using your own fat tissue. At your initial consultation, Dr. Hamawy can explain the pros and cons of each procedure in greater detail.

PermaLip™ Lip Implants

PermaLip™ is a lip implant made of a very soft, solid cylinder of silicone. The lips look and feel soft, natural and full. PermaLip implants can be easily removed without causing harm to your lip, providing an additional benefit over other lip implants. This is a great option if you have tried injectable fillers in the past and want a long-term solution or you are seeking a permanent solution that does not need upkeep after the initial procedure. There are several sizes that can be customized to your individual lips. Silicone lip implants do not rupture, grow into the surrounding tissue, harden, or degenerate over time.

Your lip implant can be placed in as a minor procedure in the office using a local anesthetic. A tiny incision are hidden in the corners of your mouth and implants can then slide in through the sides under the lip lining. The procedure takes about 45 minutes.

Recovery

You can expect some visible swelling following your procedure which may take up to a week to subside. Frequent use of ice packs will help with the swelling. You may experience numbness for a few weeks in the area. This will gradually subside within a month.
