Princeton Plastic Surgeons will be having a special hair restoration event in our office on 9/26/17 from 9:00am-5:00pm. Contact our office today to RSVP!
Not happy with your hairline? You didn’t choose to lose your hair but you can choose to grow it back and get natural, permanent results.
Hair loss does not need to define you! With new advances in minimally invasive microtechnology, your hair can be restored WITHOUT the need of the linear scar and pain associated with it. The procedure takes place in our private office and most people are able to go back to work the next day.
Your Hair Restoration Consultation
You will learn about the procedure, its limitations , and Dr. Hamawy will discuss your needs and concerns. After your consultation, photographs will be taken for your medical record.
During your first visit, Dr. Hamawy will assess your hair loss and evaluate your hair line. He will also try to understand your expectations and lifestyle and will let you know if your goals can be realistically accomplished.
Be prepared to discuss any medical conditions you may have, allergies, prior surgeries including hair transplants, and medications, vitamins or other supplements that you currently take. You will be asked whether anyone in your family has hair loss as well. It is important for you to provide complete information. If you are a smoker, you should stop smoking at least 3 weeks before your procedure.
Dr. Hamawy is concerned about your health and safety and, depending on your medical status, may ask for additional evaluations before proceeding with surgery.
The NeoGraft™ technique uses a tiny device to extract individual hair units from the scalp. The NeoGraft™ is a minimally-invasive technique that automatically remove hair grafts from the donor area. Once it is collected, the individual hair units are carefully separated, and are then transferred into the bald or thinning areas on the scalp, beard or even eyebrows.
– During the extraction, you can be comfortably listening to music or talking with us. You are able to sit or stand up, eat and drink, and use the restroom during the process.
– During the graft transfer portion of the procedure, you can watch a movie or listen to music. After the procedure is over,we wash your hair before letting you go home.
The advantages of the NeoGraft™ hair restoration are:
- No scalpel, suture, or staples are used
- No long linear scars are left behind
- There is minimal discomfort
- Healing and Recovery is Fast
- Minimal risk of bleeding or infection
The Day of Your Procedure
Before the procedure, you will be given medicine to lessen the anxiety and discomfort. Dr. Hamawy will meet with you before your procedure and he will answer any questions you may have that morning then will numb the donor area. The process usually takes several hours so plan on spending most of the day in the office. We usually take a break for lunch that we provide, or you are welcome to bring your own. After we are done, we wash your hair before letting you go home.
Before & After Photos
A minimal amount of discomfort is normal for a day or two. You can usually get your scalp wet and gently wash after a day. Most patients are able to go back to work the following morning. The results take a while to see, since you have to wait until the hair actually grows. However, you can expect to have a great natural looking scalp that consists of your own hair in about six to eight months.
Your follow-up visits will usually start in one or two weeks after your procedure for a checkup. Following this visit you will return in approximately 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and one year.
Be assured that your relationship with Dr. Hamawy does not end after your surgery. If you have any concerns during your recovery, or have more questions at a later time, you can always contact Dr. Hamawy.
RECOVERY: Return to work: 1-2 days – Light exercise: 1 week
